Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, non-governmental and nonprofit humanitarian organization which was established by a group of dedicated individuals from different backgrounds in 1997 and re-registered in accordance with civil society’s organization proclamation number 1113/2019 as Local Organization with Registry Number 0022.

MCMDO aspires to see mothers and children of Ethiopia leading decent lives in safe and healthy environment. The organization’s mission emphasizes on activities to improve the lives of disadvantaged mothers and children through increased access to health and social services using holistic and participatory approach.

MCMDO is implementing projects in all regional states in the country namely Tigray, Afar, Amhara, Oromia, SNNRP, Gambella, Somali, Harari, Dire Dawa and Addis Somali Regional States.

Since its establishment, MCMDO has been engaged in the implementation of different programs and projects that contribute to the national efforts of reducing vulnerability and poverty. Up to date, MCMDO has implemented more than 200 projects in all regions of Ethiopia. Different interventions have been conducted in partnership with different donors/partners both national and multi-national funding agencies. In FY 2023, there are 33 active projects under implementation in more than 85 Weredas of the different regions and administrative cities of Ethiopia being implemented by a total of 407 staff.  Its current annual Budget exceeds half Billion Birr.

MCMDO is operating in all regions of Ethiopia including Dire Dawa and Addis Ababa city administrations. The Organization’s head office is located in Addis Ababa and has twenty-four coordination and project offices located in different parts of the country.
