“MCMDO’s Emergency Response Project for the humanitarian crisis in Tigray Region”

Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization(MCMDO) has commenced the implementation of Emergency Response Projects in Tigray region, in Southern, South Eastern, Central, Eastern and North Western zones in a total of 13 woredas.
Though the security situation and access are highly fragile & complex, MCMDO staffs resumed responding to the deteriorating humanitarian situations in the region.
MCMDO has established worea level offices and regional coordination office in Mekelle. Mobile Health and Nutrition Response (MHNR) project is under implementation in Raya Azebo, Ofla, Seharti Samre, Dogaa Temben, Kola Temben, lalay Adiyabo, Mereb Leke, Shire, Zana and Tahtay Maychew woredas and Emergency Nutrition Project is under implementation in Tselemti, Zana and Tahtay Maychew woredas.
The objective of the projects is to deliver lifesaving health and nutrition services through deploying Mobile Health and Nutrition teams in conflict affected woredas.
MCMDO teams are providing basic health services such as consultation, medical treatment, nutrition screening, referral and strengthening local health system capacities. The project will be implemented for six months period with financial support of UN OCHA and Humidica e.v.
MCMDO will continue to collaborate with the government, Humanitarian coordination structures and other stakeholders to achieve the project objectives and mobilize more resources to respond for the dire humanitarian needs unfolding.
