MCMDO under its ECCD and ABE programs graduate children’s from six community owned early learning centers.
MCMDO Currently implements more than 24 projects in all regions of Ethiopia; Early Child Care and Development (ECCD) project is one of the projects under Education thematic area which has been implemented in partnership with plan international Ethiopia since 2013. Children participating in early learning programs acquire foundational skills that contribute to their long-term performance and success in primary school.
The project target all children’s (birth to 8); it will geographically address woreda 12 and Woreda 14) of Yeka sub city in Addis Ababa City Administration. On this project communities will develop and learn to their full potential through effective, inclusive and holistic ECCD supports.
The project specifically aims Parents and guardians take action to improve the development (including care, learning, and protection) of children ages birth to 8 years, all children’s aged 4 to 6 years, participate in quality and inclusive early learning programs that promote the development of physical, cognitive, social, emotional and language skills, effective school and community supports are in place to ensure successful transitions to primary school and Government and non-government actors in ECCD work in partnership to ensure the development and protection of all children at community, district, region and national level.
As a part of this project under early learning project activity MCMDO transit 87 (41 male and 46 female) children’s whom complete early learning program to primary school for sixth round. Beside this 101 (48 male and 53 female) children whom complete the Alternative basic education (ABE) also transit to primary school from its centers of (Geberiel, Demeka, Quility, Adama, Kara Gebesa and Bore) on July 13 and 14.
Guests and parents of the students attained the event to congratulate the graduates.
The day passed with great celebration starts with welcoming and congratulating speech by Rekik Dagne PR and Documentation Officer, followed by Congratulation and motivational speech by Ato Fekere Mulat woreda 12 CBO (community based organization)coordinator and Speech about the program and congratulating the students by Ato Resom Sisay MCMDO Addis Ababa area coordinator.
After the speech Students from the centers presented Poems, cultural & modern Dance.
Certificate award for graduates were given by Teachers (representative of the centers).
Finally the event was closed by Photo program of graduates with their family and teachers.
